Short answer

A Dubai VPS is a virtual private server set up for websites and apps aimed at Dubai and the wider UAE. On freevpsserver.net it runs Ubuntu LTS with a web control panel, NVMe SSD storage, a MySQL database and one-click WordPress that works in English or Arabic. You sign up with an email, create the VPS from your dashboard, and it's live in about a minute — no credit card required.

It's the same real Linux environment you'd pay for later, which makes it a practical place to build a UAE-facing site, show a Dubai client a working preview, or learn server skills that employers in the Gulf ask for.

Why Dubai

What a Dubai-focused VPS gets right

Hosting for a UAE audience isn't only about where a server sits. It's about the language, the domain, the working hours and the fact that most people here don't want to hand over a card to try something.

01

Arabic and English, side by side

UTF-8 end to end, WordPress in Arabic with right-to-left layout, and a path to a proper bilingual site. No encoding surprises when a client sends copy in both languages.

02

.ae domains just work

Point a .ae, .com or any other domain at the VPS from the panel, get a free SSL certificate once DNS resolves, and go live under your own name.

03

Gulf working hours

Cron jobs, backups and scheduled posts can be set around Gulf Standard Time (UTC+4) and the Sunday-to-Friday or Monday-to-Friday week your business actually keeps.

04

Nothing to pay, nothing to cancel

No credit card, no AED hold on your account, no trial that silently converts. The free plan ends on its own; you decide what happens next from the dashboard.

Who uses it

Three Dubai use cases we see most

Startups & small businesses

Launch pages, brochure sites

You're launching in Dubai or Abu Dhabi and need a site up before the licence, the office and the paid hosting are all sorted. Build it here for free, test it with real visitors, then move or upgrade when revenue starts.

  • Landing page for a product launch
  • Bilingual company site on WordPress
  • Contact forms that email your team
  • Point your .ae domain when ready

Freelancers & agencies

Client previews, staging

Dubai clients like to see something working before they sign. A free VPS gives you a public URL for a staging build without putting a client project on your own paid server or asking them to pay first.

  • Share a live preview link
  • Test themes and plugins safely
  • Demo RTL and Arabic layouts
  • Hand over when the client approves

Students & job seekers

Linux, WordPress, DevOps practice

Tech roles across the UAE ask for Linux and web-server experience. Practising on a real Ubuntu VPS — not a simulator — is the fastest way to have honest answers in an interview.

  • Explore an Ubuntu filesystem
  • Set up a database and connect an app
  • Deploy a site with HTTPS end to end
  • Break things and fix them for free

Bilingual setup

Building an Arabic or English–Arabic site on your Dubai VPS

Most Dubai sites end up bilingual, and the mistakes usually happen early: a theme that breaks in right-to-left, a database that mangles Arabic text, or two languages crammed onto one URL with no signal to search engines about which is which.

The VPS avoids the first two by default — the server and MySQL run UTF-8 (utf8mb4), and WordPress can be installed directly in Arabic so the admin and front end are RTL from the first login. The checklist on the right covers the rest.

If you only need Arabic, install WordPress in Arabic and pick any theme that advertises RTL support. If you need both, a translation plugin gives each language its own URL, and a pair of hreflang tags tells Google which page to show to which visitor.

  • Install WordPress in Arabic

Choose العربية as the site language in the one-click installer. The dashboard, dates and layout switch to RTL automatically.

  • Pick an RTL-tested theme

Look for “RTL ready” in the theme description. Most popular themes are, but check the menu and footer in Arabic before you build on it.

  • Give each language its own URL

Use /en/ and /ar/ (or two subdomains) rather than one mixed page. Search engines and visitors both prefer it.

  • Add hreflang tags

Two lines in the <head> that point to the English and Arabic versions of each page. Translation plugins add them for you.

<!-- in the <head> of every page --> <link rel="alternate" hreflang="en-AE" href="https://example.ae/en/"> <link rel="alternate" hreflang="ar-AE" href="https://example.ae/ar/"> <link rel="alternate" hreflang="x-default" href="https://example.ae/en/">

A site builder is fine for a one-page card. Shared hosting is fine once you're sure. A free Dubai VPS is for the stretch in between — when you want a real server and a real URL without committing money yet.

FAQ

Dubai VPS questions

What is a Dubai VPS?

A Dubai VPS is a virtual private server set up for websites and apps aimed at Dubai and the UAE. On freevpsserver.net it runs Ubuntu LTS with a web control panel, NVMe SSD storage, a MySQL database and one-click WordPress, and you can start for free with an email address.

Is the Dubai VPS really free?

Yes. The Free Learner VPS costs nothing and asks for no credit card, no deposit and no billing details. You sign up with an email and create the VPS from your dashboard.

Can I build an Arabic or bilingual website on it?

Yes. WordPress can be installed in Arabic with right-to-left layout, and the server handles UTF-8 so Arabic and English content work side by side. Bilingual sites usually use a translation plugin plus hreflang tags.

Can I connect a .ae domain to my Dubai VPS?

Yes. Any domain you own, including .ae and .com, can be pointed at the VPS by updating its DNS A record. The panel issues a free SSL certificate for the domain once it resolves.

Do I need Linux skills to use a Dubai VPS?

No. The web control panel covers file uploads, databases, domains, SSL and WordPress installs, so you can run a site without typing commands. Command-line access is useful if you want to learn Linux, but it is not required.

How long does the free Dubai VPS last?

The Free Learner VPS includes 500 MB of NVMe disk and runs for 7 days. Larger plans with more time and resources can be selected from your dashboard when you need them.

Who is a free Dubai VPS best for?

Students and job seekers in the UAE learning Linux and WordPress, freelancers and agencies who need a quick staging site to show a Dubai client, and small businesses that want to test a website before paying for hosting.
